Reflections on the Past 43 Days

Working in the barn, I seldom go outside for very long. Too bad. Because when I do, I cannot help but look directly at Mount Baker (see photo). I tried to climb this mountain two times before I ultimately succeeded in 2006.

It's been 43 days since I first starting working on Victoria. I'm very happy with the progress made in that time, but I am also overwhelmed by the magnitude of what is in front of me. It's like climbing a big mountain, I guess.

It has snowed the last few days and that means that I won't be out there anytime soon. That's just as well. It's Christmas, and I've got other places to be. The snow was forecasted so I went out there a few days ago and made things tidy. I think the next step is to figure out what's holding the body onto the frame. Then building a jig that will support the body and frame, together and separately.
