I ordered away from Land Rovers the bushings for the rear doors. I received them today. The whole set of 5 cost something like $10, including shipping. Awesome. THe only problem is that the brass balls are 16mm and the proper j-type ones are 19mm. No problem, the Paul Beck catalog has them for 1.90 each. You can see them in the photo above.
Roly continues to send me van parts. My postman is going to be crippled when he learns that he carried a whole J van to my doorstep on the installment plan.
I faxed all over trying to get the correct rear spring bushings. Alas, nobody replied. I'll continue trying.

Hi Charlie - I too had problems with my balls. I happened across Paul Becks site, and bought a set of hinge pins and 19mm balls (part no 688E), which are perfect.
Keep up the good work ... you are really making progress!
